2024 Honor Our Heroes 5K Memorial Run

Volunteer Road Guards

Local Law Enforcement and City Personnel will control all main intersections and the flow of traffic. Traffic cones and signs will be placed throughout the course. Volunteer road guards will be asked to assist runners on the course path near side streets. Locations and maps will be provided on the day of the race.

Teams of two will check in registered runners, assign race bib numbers, hand out appropriate race shirts and assemble swag bags with promotional materials, coupons, and raffle ticket items.

Vendor Assistant

Volunteers have tables and chairs provided by the UTBC to set up around the event space and will assist with the coordination and direction of vendors for “Sponsor Row”.

* Please note that all vendors bringing in equipment are asked to have their booths up by 6:30am to avoid any construction projects while the race participants are arriving.

Water Station Attendants

Location 1.  Three volunteers will be at the finish line to ensure water bottles are available and will hand them to participants as they cross the finish line. 

Location 2.  Four volunteers will be at the intersection of Shore Dr and Park Blvd.  Two tables will be set up; the first is for the participants moving west on the Shore, and the second is for the participants turning north on Park Blvd. Volunteers will be needed to fill small cups with water for the participants to grab and ensure we pick up any cups that miss the trash can.  These cans will be provided ~20 yards down from each table in the direction of travel. Clean gloves will be provided.
