Patchwork Grants provide limited, special-circumstances financial assistance to Oldsmar residents experiencing a temporary hardship affecting basic needs such as food, shelter, health, or well-being.
Information at a glance:
- Applicants must have lived in Oldsmar for at least three (3) months to be eligible.
- Grants are reviewed and approved on a case-by-case basis by the Oldsmar Cares Board of Directors and are awarded in accordance with the organization’s mission and core values of helping neighbors in need.
- Patchwork Grants are intended to help resolve a specific, temporary situation—not to reimburse general monthly living expenses or provide ongoing financial support. Applications must include a clear request for assistance, an explanation of the hardship, and an explanation of how receiving assistance will help restore long-term stability.
- Examples of eligible requests may include emergency utility assistance, housing-related emergencies, essential transportation repairs, or other one-time circumstances that create an immediate need.
- Examples that are generally NOT eligible include ongoing monthly obligations without a plan for future sustainability, such as recurring personal bills, installment payments, or requests to cover regular living expenses indefinitely.
